N of 1: Working Together to Meet the Challenge of Rare Disorders

The 2nd Canadian Conference on Rare Disorders, celebrates every patient as an individual and recognizes the special challenge of disorders shared by only a few. The theme “Working Together to Meet the Challenge of Rare Disorders” recognizes that it takes a lot of people from many different parts of society to contribute to living successfully with a rare disorder.

The Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders invites researchers, clinicians, patients, care providers, policy makers, administrators, members of industry, and all others interested in rare disorders to contribute to this collaborative conference.

Call for Abstract Proposals
CORD invites you to submit a oral/poster presentation, workshop, or patient story for the 2nd Canadian Conference on Rare Disorders "N of 1: Working Together to Meet the Challenge of Rare Disorders". Deadline for abstract submissions is Friday, March 13, 2009 at 4 pm.

To submit your abstract, please complete the application form:

• Oral/Poster Presentation
• Workshop/Discussion
• Patient Story

Please consider sharing your knowledge, skills, or experience by submitting an abstract for an oral presentation, interactive workshop, or poster. The conference is organized around three streams of interest: scientific, policy, and living well (care, support, self-management). There are three formats for presentation: oral paper or story, workshop, and poster.

The themes for the conference are:

• Understanding rare disorders (including issues related to rarity)
• Identifying rare disorders (screening, diagnosis, counseling)
• Treating rare disorders (current and emerging therapies)
• Living with rare disorders (including patient experiences)
