In response to a CBC “2nd Opinion” where the head of the PMPRB was cited as (mis)aligning and maligning “patient organizations” (in general) and those on the PMPRB Steering Committee (in particular) as “virtually indistinguishable” from industry, CORD and Myeloma Canada took their concerns directly to the Chair of the PMPRB. While we didn’t really expected an “unqualified” apology, we thought there would be at least a correction of the perception OR an acknowledgement this was NOT the government’s position. Neither apology nor correction were offered but a totally unsatisfactory obfuscation of the remarks. Really? We can all see through those inadequate “explanations” and lack of accountability for public comments that should NEVER have been made, under any circumstance. We provide, for the record, our letter and the response.
